Castle Hills Elementary School

Welcome New Families

Your child may be the person attending Castle Hills Elementary, but we still consider you very much a part of the Castle Hills Family. Parents play a vital role in championing our efforts. We offer extensive parent resources to familiarize you with our campus and provide information on important academic calendar dates.

If your child receives an invitation to enroll, as part of our lottery system, and you decide to come to Castle Hills Elementary, you will receive information on how to enroll, and the steps your child needs to take before arriving on campus.  We are the only elementary Magnet school in North East ISD, offering a modified year-round calendar and a focus on enrichment and leadership. If you would like to view the checklist before May, visit the New Students page on our website.

Our resources for families don’t end there. A Meet the Teacher event in July is an orientation for the families and students to introduce you to the teams your child will be working with. A Family Open House Night in August offers you insight into your child’s academic and co-curricular experience. Our monthly Principal Newsletter, as well as teacher newsletters and the Facebook group provide regular updates on happenings at CHE as well as ideas for encouraging your child in their newfound independence.

Military Families

North East ISD welcomes military families who have been transferred to a local military installation. Any parent or guardian who is an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States, or are part of the reserve armed forces, may establish residence and enroll children in North East ISD.

Simply provide a copy of a military order requiring your transfer to a military installation in or adjacent to the district’s attendance zone. The parent or guardian has up to 90 days of the arrival date specified in the order to provide North East ISD with proof of residence.

Thank you for choosing our community. Our aim is to support you and your children, ease into our community and schools. For your convenience, we have collected here resources that you may find valuable.

S2S Campus Sponsor Campus Military Liaison

At Castle Hills Elementary, our Student 2 Student (S2S) program is a student-led organization dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, especially those new to our campus. S2S members meet monthly to help new students feel connected through campus tours, lunch buddies, recess friends, and opportunities to get involved in clubs and leadership activities.

Our S2S students are actively involved in service projects throughout the year, including playground clean-up efforts and campus food drives. They also play an important leadership role in several special campus events, including hosting our Veterans Day Assembly and leading activities during the Month of the Military Child. Celebrations include Purple Up Day, themed dress-up days, encouraging chalk messages at the school entrance, and other activities that honor and support military-connected students and families.

New students have opportunities to connect with the counselor and librarian through team-building activities and service projects designed to help build friendships and a sense of belonging. When new families arrive at Castle Hills Elementary, they are welcomed with campus information and student-led tours to help ease the transition into our school community.

The S2S program at Castle Hills Elementary strives to ensure every student feels seen, supported, connected, and proud to be part of our school family.
